Wrestling With The Truth

It's the first PPV of 1996 and it's the road to Shawn Michaels boyhood dream coming true! I'm joined by Kyle from the The Apron Bump Podcast to talk Royal Rumble 1996!

We've got all kinds of stuff happening in this Rumble:

Plus me and Kyle talk hockey, lacrosse and possibly starting a curling podcast!

A special shout out to these great podcasts mentioned on this episode:

There is no mistaking that the WWF that kicks off 1996 is vastly different than the WWF that ended 1995. While Nitro continues to churn out dream match after dream match they also managed to wake up a sleeping giant as they finally got Vince McMahon's attention with all their antics.

This episode will focus on the key changes to WWF programming in January 1996 in response to the great product WCW has been producing since Nitro went on the air. Some key moments:

All while WCW continues to march out a lineup of hall of famers the 1927 New York Yankees would be in awe of! The war truly feels like it has started!

We're ending 1995 with the Granddaddy Of Them All...STARRCADE! BC is joined this week by fellow podcaster turned realtor Big Mike Martin (Armstrong Avenue Podcast) to discuss Starrcade 95, some great matches, the magic of Flair, a possible Dusty Rhodes sitcom, home buying in Georgia and so much more!

It's a pivotal point in the Monday Night War as this week I'm tackling the December 18th episode of Nitro where Madusa Miceli shows up with the WWF Women's Title in hand and proceeds to drop it in the trash! This was not just a shot across the bow of Monday Night Raw, it was a nuclear strike!

This week I'm joined by Taylor from Jaded Wrasslin' to talk In Your House 5: Seasons Beatings! This fifth IYH event featured Razor Ramon and Marty Jannetty tagging up against Sid and the 1-2-3 Kid, Owen Hart vs Diesel, a surprise return no one was expecting, a heel turn for the ages and a bloody main event involving Bret Hart and The British Bulldog.

Not only that, but we also talk:

Wrestling With The War is back, it's December 1995, WWF are on the road to In Your House 5 and WCW is preparing for Starrcade '95! In this episode BC will be discussing the December 4th and 11th episodes of Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro. It's a lackluster build to IYH 5, but WCW is hitting on all cylinders with lots of storylines colliding and dissention amongst the ranks of the good guys like Hogan, Sting and Savage. We've got pimped out caskets, Weasel Wafers, Phoenix Suns, awkward high fives, Seinfeld references and much more!

I know it's been a while since we actually talked about the Monday Night War, and we will be soon doing that again, but it is more important to fill you all in on a major change with the show. Jay Myers is stepping away from the the podcast for the time being (hopefully not forever) so BC will be going it alone for the foreseeable future...or will he? You'll have to listen to this mini episode to hear what he's got up his sleeve.
We'll also briefly touch on the Cody Rhodes situation and shout out some pretty cool podcasters for their great takes on all that is happening in the wrestling world!

As hard as it is to believe we have made it to 100 episodes!

There have been lots of fun moments , fantastic interviews, crazy takes and top 10's over the last two years, but one thing we've never done is turn control over to our listeners. That's right, it's time for World War 3! Not the three ring circus between USA, Russia and China...we're talking a three ring 60 man battle royal at WCW World War 3!!

It's chaos and mayhem and of course there is a wonky ending that ends up with Hulk Hogan pulling out the crying towel. Hear our thoughts about this Pay Per View and the fallout on Nitro the night after. And what is WWF's response to the whole thing?

It's an action packed episode that includes a Ninja Yeti, the return of Jay Myers and a run in by the Ted the Hillbilly Heel! What else could you ask for??
