In this episode I was inspired by my conversation with Annie & Hannah (HANNIE!) where we talked about their thoughts on the law of attraction.

I've made the mistake in the past of just taking the law of attraction at face value and hearing phrases like 'what you think about you bring about' and not really thinking much beyond that and even beyond the phrase law of attraction.

So let's take a look at something that i would say is part of the picture and is a more practical way of realising something like the law of attraction.

In this i refer to Dr Joe Dispenza and particularly his book Becoming Supernatural (probably for about third time in these wriinkle Shorts!) Anyway - here's an amazon link to the book:

Movement is medicine - that's what this episode is all about. According to the World Health Organisation about a third of the world's population are leading dangerously sedentary lifestyles (the richest companies like UK & USA can be found in the top bracket!). This is putting us at significantly increased risk of things like heart disease, cancer, type II diabetes, depression, Alzheimers and so much more.

So in this episode we talk about how we can be more conscious of breaking up our long periods of inactivity throughout our days. Also how much activity and which types are recommended and then we also look at a couple of movements we can carry out to complement our non-sedentary activities and actually boost our brain power too.

So we previewed our upcoming Instagram project on Monday and as part of that I've been finding interesting people on Instagram who seem like they have a purpose, that big WHY, and are doing bits, and direct messaging them. So I've been engaging with them on Insta and arranging a time and place (usually in or around London) to meet up and do an interview and take their portrait.

So it was only into the 3rd one of these that I realised what a funny new situation i'm putting myself in everyday - meeting strangers and getting them to open up to me about their life! It's been great and they've all been successful so far :)

This got me thinking about how i've been watching the recordings back and analysing my own performance and extracting the reason why i've somehow managed to get each person to trust and open up to me right away.

I've also looked into some books and articles on the subject and combined these with my own thoughts to give you 2 main techniques (or at least things to think about) in having great conversations with new people and creating a comfortable easy environment for them to open up.

We’ve put a load of thought into what wriinkle’s purpose is recently – what's our big, ultimate mission for everything we’re doing??

This is it:

Wriinkle’s mission is to empower people to find their purpose. We know from our own experience, and see it in our friends and family, that people often get to a stage of their life where they might be questioning the path they're on. Maybe we're feeling unfulfilled by what we're doing and know that we can be fulfilling more ambitions, doing more of what we love and what we can contribute to whole heartedly. This all boils down to purpose. What’s your purpose?

So when we're thinking about what can inspire us and energise us to find/go after our purpose - we think seeing other people on their own journey of growth (however far along it they might be) can have have the best effect.

There’s a short bit at the start of chapter 6 of Becoming Supernatural by Dr Joe Dispenza - the chapter is called “living examples of truth and he says; “once we can relate to the challenges and triumphs of other people’s journeys we can start to believe a similar experience can happen for us. Stories also make ideas become less philosophical and more personal”

So for us at wriinkle - this project isn’t about ‘success stories’ – it’s about sharing journeys, illustrating the growth mindset and helping people find purpose.
