In this Wriinkle Short we’re talking about the benefits of exercise on your brain and your mind – so all the good stuff you’ll experience outside of the physical benefits of being fit and feeling more self-confident etc.
We all know this stuff and we know exercising makes us feel better – it’s always “I’m glad I did that” afterwards, especially after building it up in your head and even dreading it before hand.
So if we know it’s good, then we do a lot of us still struggle to motivate ourselves to get active. Well we thought that if we look into what’s exactly going on in our brain when we exercise then it might help us to take action.
We never want to preach on the podcast, we like to put you on the path to discovering more about subjects like this by bending you on to stuff we’ve found useful.
In this one I’ll reference:
Book
Spark: How exercise will improve the performance of the brain
Author: Dr John J Ratey

TED Talk
Wendy Suzuki: The brain changing benefits of exercise

Let us know what you think about this subject – what is your experience of exercising and the effects it does or doesn’t have cognitively.
