Thanks for listening!
After the interest people showed in podcast #013 about chiropractic, this Wriinkle Short is all about the stuff we learned from speaking to Dr Tom and also the other thoughts it’s inspired since.
We’ve picked out a couple of clips from the podcast episode that most of you were commenting on where he tells us about micro-traumas and poor posture. We’re putting ourselves in bad body positions everyday, like when we’re bowing our heads over our phones and computers all the time. From what Dr Tom is telling us, this is directly affecting our health and in particular our brain function.
Some of you linked this to body language and the power that it seemingly holds. So this got us thinking more about body language and maybe how you can proactively use your body to affect your mind-set.
There’s a boss Ted Talk where Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist, talks about body language and the relationship between the mind and body. She goes into detail about experiments she’s been a part of where they’re proving that the way in which we hold ourselves can have a significant effect on how confident or stressed we might feel and then also even our propensity for success.
She even talks about power posing for 2 minutes before big moments like job interviews.
