Scripture Verse: Genesis 3:6-11 “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”

Scripture Verse: Psalm 19:14
“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
This final episode of 2024 is a deeply personal conversation as Dot and Cara reflect on a year marked by challenges, growth, and their fight to hold on to hope. We’re looking at Romans 4:18-25 to be reminded of Abraham’s unwavering faith, even when circumstances seemed impossible and to renew our conviction to place our hope not in outcomes, but in God Himself. If you're feeling weary or uncertain, pull up a chair and join us—because Jesus is Emmanuel, our hope in every season.

Scripture Verse: Romans 4:18-25
“In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
As we wrap up our series on perspective, Dot and Cara share what it means to walk ‘in the light of the living.’ This episode invites us to reflect on how shifting our perspective can reveal the light of Jesus, even when darkness is all around. From practical steps to change your focus, to the importance of surrounding yourself with people who help you see the light, Dot reminds us that living in the light is about Jesus, not our circumstances. Grab your Bible and a pen and settle in with us as we learn to live in the light today!

Scripture Verse: Matthew 6:22-23
“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”

Scripture Verse: Jeremiah 3:11-15
“And the Lord said to me, “Faithless Israel has proved herself more righteous than treacherous Judah. Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say,
‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not look upon you in anger.
For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not be angry forever.
‘Only acknowledge your iniquity,
That you have transgressed against the Lord your God
And have scattered your favors to the strangers under every green tree,
And you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares the Lord.
‘Return, O faithless sons,’ declares the Lord;
‘For I am a master to you,
And I will take you one from a city and two from a family,
And I will bring you to Zion.’
“Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
In today’s episode, Dot and Cara dive into the character of Martha, sister of Mary and Lazarus. They explore how easy it is to get caught up in doing things for Jesus while missing the opportunity to simply be with Jesus. Martha’s busyness led her to tell Jesus what to do, but Mary chose the better part—sitting at His feet and listening. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or anxious, it might be time to pause and ask, “Am I doing something Jesus hasn’t asked me to do?” Grab your Bible and a cup of coffee, and reflect with us on choosing what truly matters.

Scripture Verse: Luke 10:38-42
“Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
Pull up a chair, grab your Bible, and join Dot and Cara as they explore the powerful truth of God’s sovereignty. What does it mean for God to be in control, even when we don’t get the outcome we were hoping for? In this conversation, Dot and Cara discuss how we can trust God with the big picture, like elections, leadership, and our personal lives. Wherever you find yourself this week, remember: God is on His throne, and He is in control.

Scripture Verse: Daniel 4:31-32 “While the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you, and you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.’”
