The Power of Healing Together: Reflections on Facilitating The Queen’s Inaugural Retreat for Stage IV Breast Cancer Patients and Their Spouses
It is not an exaggeration to say that facilitating a retreat for breast cancer patients and their spouses was one of the most profound and transformative experiences of my life. As we gathered in the serene and peaceful landscape of Lanai, I witnessed the raw strength, vulnerability, and deep connection that forms when individuals unite around a shared experience of facing one of life’s most challenging circumstances. The retreat was not merely a program; it became a safe haven where healing went beyond the physical body and touched the emotional, psychological, and spiritual realms. Through this journey, I came to understand how deeply intertwined the experiences of patients and their spouses are, and how vital it is to support both on their path toward healing. As one of the patients later shared her impression: This was a “cancer-healing moon.”
In this week's podcast, I'd like to share why it matters for us to:
Decide that our present mind matters and do all we can to protect it. A deep gratitude to National Breast Foundation for their generous support of our retreat. To learn more about how you can get help or donate to help others, please visit: https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/
I have always wanted to do a podcast about infertility. Both from the point of view of those experiencing it as well as those who offer support for people going through it.
