Nowadays, it can be easy to get an educational qualification, both in person and online. However, together with those who believe these are essential to succeed in life, some think they are useless. In this essay, I will discuss both points of view and explain why I believe earning a qualification can be beneficial.

Some think that spending time studying to get a qualification is not essential for multiple reasons. Firstly, it is sometimes considered to be a waste of time. This is because some courses offered are not practical and students are therefore left with only the theories to learn by heart. Secondly, some people say that it is better to learn while you work. This gives individuals the possibility of trying immediately what they have just learned and, in case, ask for feedback or help.

Others, on the other hand, think that getting a qualification can help find a better job and having success in life. One of the reasons for this is that employers usually ask for a degree or some kind of qualifications to prove someone’s abilities. Finding an occupation without one is challenging and frustrating, because if it is stated that someone has never received professional training, the possibilities of being considered for a position are extremely low, especially if the person is young. Another reason why I believe it can be wise to have one is because it can make people feel confident in their abilities. Once someone receives a qualification, it may be easier to get out of their comfort zone and try applying what they have been taught.

In conclusion, although I understand why some think it is not beneficial, I firmly believe that earning a degree or an educational qualification can help people taking their careers to the next level, finding the right position and feeling ready for it.
