40 minutes of fun, an hour and 20 minutes of a big time bummer. This could describe either this episode of the Bachelorette or this episode of our podcast. Sorry it's so long this week, we blame Gaslight Gatekeep Greg. 

WE WERE TRICKED. This was not hometowns, this was bamboozlement! We only got 20 minutes of Michael A. and then had to watch a whole hour and 40 minutes of Men Tell All (well it would have been an hour and 40 minutes except our wifi kept going out for long chunks of time so it was really more of a whoosie-whatsits of time). Highlights include the sweet angel baby that is Michael, Andrews extraordinary masterclass in how to be the Bachelor, and Tayshia and Kaitlyn lookin smoking hot as always. Lowlights include Connor B being a general disappointment.  

Hometowns are next week??? Somehow hometowns always sneak up on us! But you know what they mean - lots of men telling a girl how much their moms will love her. They can't all love her, that's not how it works. One or more of them have to be lying. This episode was fine, but was honestly mostly a vessel to get us through to our FINAL FOUR BABYYY! This week was about honesty and sacrifice... For us, not for the contestants. For the contestants this week was about complaining about not getting to jerk off and making fun of Hunter for being short and liking The Bachelor. Not a cute look you guys. Also we'd like to lodge a formal complaint with whoever creates the day of promos for this franchise. Telling us this week would have FIVE SURPRISE EXITS was a BLATANT LIE and we got excited for no reason! This is like when they made us think the fence jump was always going to be happening the following week. Ugh.

In an embarrassing turn of events we are very much enjoying ourselves this season. Blake is meh, Greg is meh, Connor is meh, but Michael is amazing and so are Andrew and Justin. Does LITERALLY ANYONE in charge here understand the definition of sex positivity, I feel like we have to ask this every week. That being said, stoked for the rest of the season, everyone seems like they sob at least once.

Sorry this is a long one folks, we have a lot to say - mostly about the Bachelorette! This week was full of must-consume media with Rachel Lindsay's New York Magazine article and this episode. Rachel's article reminded us that we need to be conscious consumers of what storylines we are being fed by the Bachelor producers, and we are going to work on doing our best to provide wholistic recaps to try and see through what is simply being presented to us. This week we are obsessed with Justin, Andrew S., and in a shocking turn of events... Aaron? We have maintained our medium stance on Greg, and Cody and Karl give us the heebie jeebies. Honestly gotta give it up, this was a mostly fun episode to watch and many of the men made surprisingly reasonable decisions. Is this potentially the most watchable season of the Bachelorette since who even knows when? Only time will tell!
