Dr. Zuckerman breaks down how the feet serve as the body’s sensory and structural base, explaining the role of joints, muscles, mechanoreceptors, fascia, and the nervous system. The conversation moves from modern shoe culture to barefoot training (done safely), and into real-world solutions for pain, imbalance, and even peripheral neuropathy.

• Your feet are your foundation. With 33 joints and 29 muscles, dysfunction in the feet can create a chain reaction of compensation and pain throughout the body.

• Mechanoreceptors drive balance and confidence. The sensory feedback from your feet tells your brain where you are in space—when that signal is dulled, stability and movement suffer.

• Modern footwear changes how we move. Constantly wearing rigid shoes can limit motion, reduce sensory input, and contribute to stiffness and adhesions over time.

• Neuropathy doesn’t have to mean “no options.” Dr. Zuckerman shares how combining movement, blood-flow restoration, and advanced non-invasive therapies can dramatically improve outcomes.
