WTC Squadcast

This week we invite Adam Camilleri, Erik Lathouras, and Josh Diffey from Team Australia (and Down Under Pairings, and Best Coast Pairings, AND Art of War Down Under - busy men these 3)to talk about the challenges of forming a WTC team in a country with such a widely dispersed population AND getting a team to travel halfway around the world to compete at the highest level of competitive 40k there is.

Apologies in advance for Erik being a little quiet, technical issues with recording this week prevented me from editing the separate tracks.

This week we are joined by Piotr (Typhus) and Arek (Krol) from Team Poland. We discuss Poland's approach to WTC team selection, how this slots into the structure of the Polish tournament circuit, and what they think is the secret behind Poland being one of the all-time greatest WTC teams. We also take time to delve into the emerging Polish 9th Edition meta and break down a few lists that have had recent success.

This week we have a double whammy of 9th Ed tournament coverage. First, we discuss the recent Varberg GT (Sweden) with Chris Fiedler, Pär Hylander and Daniel Hesselberg. Then after the break, we talk with Alex Harrison about his recent QUADRUPLE back to back tournament wins with his Salamanders.

On this week's episode, we are first joined by Nick Navanati, Matt Robertson and Stephen Box, then later by Tom Leighton and Gaz Jones, to talk about what keeps bringing people back to the WTC and some of the silly things that happen there.

On this weeks episode Neil, Isik and Tom discuss 9th Edition 40k from the perspective of the WTC TO's. Then in part 2 we are joined by Innes (Team Scotland), James (Team England), and Vili (Team Finland) to hear their first impressions on 9th Edition and how the competitive meta is already shaping up.

World Team Championship is an annual team tournament for the tabletop miniature game “Warhammer 40,000”.

It is the premier event of Warhammer 40K where nations from all across the world come to compete as national teams to be crowned as the World Champions.

Any nation can join the WTC as long half of their 8 men roster are citizens of that country. This makes WTC the most diverse 40K event around the world.

The event takes place during a 3 day period where teams battle each other to collect the most points and be the Champions of the event. The 3 day team event is also preceded by a 2 day singles event where players both get to practice for the team event and compete against the best players across the globe.
