You know, I tried to embrace AI to create these show notes.  (There's so much I WANT to say that I find show notes difficult to write).    What I found out ... is that AI really does suck sometimes and for this episode it totally missed the mark.  Soooooooo back to the drawing board.  ;)

In this episode I talk about the emotional rollercoaster that I worked a client through.  She was working as a VA (but massively undervalued by the company that had hired her).  She wanted to walk away and start a new business ... but fear of having no money coming in, held her back.

Often, coaches will often quote Tony Robins:  

“If you're going to take the island, you're going to have to burn the boats.” 

I certainly COULD have given her that advice ... but we went through a process instead and she immediately was able to STOP that rollercoaster she was on.

When I made a simple Facebook post on my personal page, I wasn't prepared for the judgment that followed. This sparked a conversation about the troubling trend of mom-shaming on social media and how it can have a negative impact on women everywhere. From a woman receiving criticism for cleaning her daughter's room to the crab mentality evident in both business and mom-shaming, we explore the importance of supporting and empowering one another instead of passing judgment.

But how do we move beyond the fear of judgment and take control of our lives? I’m really passionate about finding our zone of brilliance.  I believe that God puts us on this earth with a unique set of gifts that no one else has … its our gifts, our strengths, our personality, our experiences and yes … even our weaknesses.  What happens though, the more we talk about finding our life’s purpose, the more we get caught up in the PERFECT thing for the rest of our lives.

Guess what?  THAT is where we go wrong.

Instead, what if we just took ACTION and do the “right thing for right now”.  You will NEVER find the right thing by NOT TRYING ANYTHING.

What I’ve noticed is that for most of us, in a sick and twisted way … we like staying stuck in the negative or unwanted emotion.  It’s a weird form of punishment that we do to ourselves isn’t it?  Something happens and we spend SO MUCH TIME thinking about what happened, worrying about what might happen and telling ourselves stories in our mind.  I was an expert in making myself feel like shit ... and for way longer than is healthy.  My friend Pierre one time told me “Sandra, It’s ok to feel the way you’re feeling, it’s not ok to stay there”.   I LOVED that and I quote him often, but I didn’t really know HOW to stop staying there!!

Until one day … I gained the strategy that I needed in order to do just that!

They key:  don’t ignore it or pretend it doesn’t exist … FEEL it but don't FEED it.  This episode will teach you how.

It seems like we are inundated with ways to categorize ourselves.  Whether it’s a personality type test like the Enneagram, a wholistic self-knowledge system like Human Design, learning strategies/difficulties like dyslexia or WHATEVER it happens to be … we like to place ourselves into a category.

In this episode I talk about how we can use these labels as excuses and reasons for holding ourselves back ORRRRR we can flip the way we see them and use them in a more empowered way.


“Try to figure out what do you like to do, what can you do with ease and how can we do things with more ease and flow, instead of bashing your fucking head against the wall because it’s not what you feel like you are in alignment for.  How can we do more what feels like flow and less what you have to force.  THAT is the power of the label … it’s knowledge … and then we push that aside and we look at where the strengths are.  THAT’S the magic …”

In this episode I talk about my long term obsession with personal development starting with Oprah (then got distracted by a side note story about my new kindle app and how that helps me read as a person with dyselxia. haha)   Anyway … I get distracted a LOT you’ll notice ….  but today I spoke about a psychological study on self-talk in reference to resisting temptation and motivating goal-directed behaviour.

I talked about the two words that SEEM similar but actually have a very different outcome when used, my recent trip with my daughter to Crumbl Cookie, boundaries and my recent hiatus from my public social media platforms.

When you want to succeed in achieving some type of goal, you’ll want to keep this in mind!
