It’s been a very eventful week on the COVID-19 front. In Georgia, and specifically in the southeast part of the state- numbers are rising in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.
In Georgia and South Carolina- vaccine rollout has expanded. On Monday- adults 65 and older, their caregivers, and first responders became eligible to receive the vaccine in Georgia.
Dr. Thacker (14:26) is the associate chief medical officer at Memorial Health in Savannah, and also the hospital’s director of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
Thacker received his first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine publicly, his first shot came on December 16 and his second was earlier this month on January 4.
