James Garrow is the Communications Director for the Department of Public Health in Philadelphia. James joins the show to talk about the city’s new Philly Phlush public restrooms. These facilities, located at three pilot sites, are designed to boost cleanliness, cut down on public urination, and support unhoused people. Garrow explained how this initiative improves public health, increases safety, and lays the groundwork for future expansion throughout Philadelphia.

Mary Cross is an acclaimed vocalist who will return to Resorts Casino Hotel on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with two performances (3 p.m. & 7 p.m.) celebrating the life and legacy of the late Phyllis Hyman. Mary is a singer-songwriter, arranger, producer, bandleader, and promoter whose deep, rich contralto voice and heartfelt performances have captivated audiences nationwide for more than two decades.

Mary joins the show to further talk about her event at Resorts Casino, her career in the entertainment industry, and to also talk about the life and legacy of Phyllis Hyman.

Marla Burkholder is the artistic director of Journey Arts Philly: an organization that leverages the power of the performing arts to catalyze social change, challenge bias, and create spaces for dialogue and understanding by presenting culturally diverse voices that celebrate and affirm our shared humanity. Nia Benjamin is the Director of Creative Projects for Journey Arts.

They both join the show to talk about the various initiatives of Journey Arts Philly, the different productions that Journey Arts has upcoming in the 2025-26 season, and much more.

Kevin Kelley is the owner of the restaurant, Kitchen + Kocktails, which is opening a new location in Philadelphia at 225 South Broad Street (where Del Frisco's used to be). This restaurant will give patrons a premiere fine dining experiences that will offer an array of soul food cuisines.

Jaylen Christie is an award-winning writer, cartoonist, and PR practitioner leading strategic communications planning and overseeing day-to-day execution of ongoing publicity initiatives that generate media coverage. He is also the author and illustrator of the comic book "Stink Bomb Man and The Brain Kids".

Jaylen joins the show to offer his analysis on the portrayal of modern Black superheroes in comics. His discussion with Roxi focused on whether these characters challenge stereotypes or reinforce them, and how their depiction has evolved over time.
