Jeff Hornstein joins to discuss more about The Economy League and it's event. Andre Perry discusses his new book: “Black Power Scorecard: Measuring the Racial Gap & What We Can Do to Close It.”

Ty Holmberg, Co-Director of the Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram’s Garden joined P.O.C to talk about Earth Day and the farm’s effective role in Southwest Philadelphia. Ty shared how the farm supports food sovereignty, youth leadership, and cultural connection while offering fresh produce, education, and healing space for the community year-round.

Zulene Mayfield of Chester EJ, Chester Environmental Justice joined P.O.C to discuss the movement led by Chester Residents Concerned for Quality Living, about Chester Transportation Center, where she joined local leaders and advocates demanding full state funding for SEPTA. Mayfield emphasized that public transit is a lifeline not just for Philly, but for Chester and all of Delaware County.

Cherron Perry-Thomas joins the show. Cherron is a community leader, a champion for urban sustainability, and the Co-Founder of Plant and People.

Marianne A. Fray joins the show. She is the President & CEO of Maternity Care Coalition. Marianne is someone who is fighting every day to ensure that all birthing people are seen, heard, and cared for

Former Community College President Donald Generals joins the show. He talks about the circumstances surrounding his dismissal from the university, and what he plans to do moving forward.

Saleem Holbrook, Executive Director of Abolitionist Law Center discusses the inhumane and deadly conditions inside Philadelphia Jails and the upcoming ballot measure calling for a prison oversight board on May 20th.

Junior Brainard and Rainah Chambliss, co-Presidents of AFT Local 2026 at Community College of Philadelphia talk about their recent union contract win and how it benefits staff and students.

Curtis Stewart is a Grammy-nominated American violinist, composer, and educator known for blending classical music with contemporary styles like hip-hop, jazz, and improvisation. He’s a member of the innovative string quartet PUBLIQuartet and has performed with a wide range of artists, from classical orchestras to popular musicians like Alicia Keys.

Curtis joins the show to talk about a performance he is having in New York called, The Gateways Festival Orchestra. The Gateways Music Festival exists to celebrate and continue Black artistry in classical music. Its orchestra comprises Black professional classical musicians drawn from the nation’s leading orchestras and music faculties.
