Sofia Carreno and Helena Pittman | Penn Medicine Nurses Community Week
Sofia Carreno is an experienced public health nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she connects clinical staff with community- based programs that address health- related social needs.
Helena Pittman is a nurse leader with over 20 years' experience at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), currently serving as the Nurse Manager for the Primary Stroke Unit.
This is the 6th Penn Medicine Nurses Week Community Day, and for the first time, a coordinated celebration across the full health system from Lancaster, PA to Princeton, NJ.
There will be interactive training and activities like
Stop the Bleed training
De-escalation Technique Education
Nutrition Education
Bike safety including, e-scooters and e-bikes
And also health screenings like
Blood pressure screenings
Diabetes screenings
Mammogram screenings
And kids-friendly activities like
Facepainting
Books for Brains which is one of our hospital's Intensive Care Nurse Programs
