On the Sept 15, 2022 episode of Java Time, Steve Kramarck had a chance to catch up with John Starr (singer/vocalist) of Best Friend's Girl. This renowned CARS cover band was set to play the Milton Theatre on Sept 16. The discussion talks about the roots of the band, what it's like to perform Cars songs, and where the love of this band comes from.
Initially solicited for use as a tie in with 2022's World College Radio Day and later repackaged for Homecoming Week, this podcast contains brief testimonials from station alums across the decades. UD radio has meant a lot to so many people, and it was nice to hear it directly from them. Enjoy!
One of several live, mobile remotes. These were conducted inside of a makeshift studio in a large Winnebago that would drive around greater Newark. Martin Anderson and Scott Patterson, student DJs, featured here....as well as many cameos including WXDR/WVUD Chief Engineer Rich M.
Join members of WVUD staff (past and present) as they give their verbal tributes to J.Michael Foster. This episode also contains old promotional announcements and public service announcements that Michael lent his voice to, as well as his very own Hall of Fame induction promo and a 30 minute biographical interview as part of our DJ Confidential series.
Michael was a mainstay at WXDR and WVUD and will be sorely missed. Other examples of his masterful interviews are further down this podcast page (highly recommend his interview with Bob Newhart!)
