WWE’s Aleister Black and Zelina Vega joined Robbie and Carly for Breakfast on Triple M ahead of SmackDown in Perth — and they didn’t hold back. From kangaroo sightings to late-night wrestling drills in their home ring, the couple gave listeners a rare glimpse into life behind the ropes.

“Our school is attached to our house… we are always busy with wrestling. But we’re also very good at saying, ‘Right now we’re going to do something that has nothing to do with wrestling.’”

 

Aleister shared how their home doubles as a training centre, complete with a ring — and how inspiration can strike at 3am.

“Sometimes I’ll get an idea and say, ‘Come with me right now, I want to try this technique.’ It’s kind of great that we’re so absorbed in wrestling.”

 

He also reflected on the impact of John Cena’s retirement and the mentors who shaped his career.

“The Undertaker graciously took time to sit me down and talk through things. Paul Heyman was always a big proponent of me and still is. I’m very thankful.”

 

Zelina Vega on resilience, The Rock, and women’s wrestling

 

Zelina opened up about nearly walking away from wrestling — until a phone call changed everything.

“It was my eighth trial. I was told I was too small, not enough of this. I thought I was done. Then The Rock called and said, ‘You’re not just the brown girl — you’re the girl. I want you to be my Divas Champion.’”

She also spoke passionately about the evolution of women’s wrestling.

“Even when I was the first Queen of the Ring, I didn’t think there were many firsts left. But they keep finding ways to make new ones. It’s a melting pot of cultures and styles — I love seeing it grow.”

“I haven’t wrestled Stephanie yet… but maybe Rhea has the top spot. I did beat her once!”
