According to new research by Michigan State University, in 2025, food prices increased 3.1%, with grocery prices up 2.4%. Recent monthly data also point to renewed inflationary pressures, suggesting that food costs may continue to rise in 2026. Detroit’s historic Music Hall marked a new chapter with the unveiling of its new name, Orsa Music Hall. The change reflects a $20 million, 25-year naming partnership announced during a special ceremony with executives of Orsa Credit Union. Opened in 1928, the venue has been a cultural cornerstone for generations of Detroiters. Leaders also shared plans for a significant new extension, aimed at expanding programming, access, and the Hall’s long-term role in downtown Detroit’s cultural future. High school athletes in Michigan can now cash in on their fame, just like college athletes. Effective immediately, the MHSAA has approved new rules expanding "Personal Branding Activities" -- or N-I-L. This means student-athletes can now sign endorsement deals, sell merchandise, get paid for autographs, and even do social media promotions.
