The tragic case of a former Michigan High School homecoming king, who took his own life after being the victim of an online "sextortion" scheme, was the focus of a hearing in U.S. District Court Monday as two more suspects are sentenced. In March 2022, 17-year-old Jordan DeMay of Marquette was lured into sending explicit images of himself online to whom he thought was a young girl his age. The solicitation actually came from two Nigerian nationals -- who ended up blackmailing DeMay... who then killed himself. Those men, Nigerian brothers Samual, and Samson Ogoshi were both extradited, and subsequently sentenced last November to 17-years in prison. Monday, two of their money-laundering American accomplices, 32-year-old Kendall London, and 30-year-old Brian Coldman, both of Georgia, were sentenced in Michigan's Western District, in Grand Rapids. WWJ's Jon Hewett spoke with Jordan Demay's parents, Jennifer Buta and John DeMay, who are both working to generate greater awareness of the online risks today's teens face.
