Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald has made human trafficking a top priority, creating a dedicated unit and strengthening a countywide task force. Some interesting findings in a new report focused on teen drug use. The Monitoring the Future study looks at drug use behaviors and attitudes among 8th, 10th and 12th graders. Dearborn launches Michigan’s first citywide school bus safety program, installing AI-powered cameras on all district buses. The technology records drivers who illegally pass stopped buses and provides evidence for police review. City leaders say the data will also guide education and traffic safety planning, with the goal of changing driver behavior and protecting children on their way to and from school.
