WWJD Goes Deep #15 Force

Not only is Force not a bad word it is a powerful motivator and that’s all you might have. In this video I describe step by step what we did to get a dog closer to a horse. This reiterates some photos I put up from the Austin Seminar showing a dog that was afraid of a horse, in minutes the dog was sitting next to the horse, then the owner was able to just grab the leash and walk up to the horse easily without the dog being stressed (even if the dog was at the moment it still was not resisting) we get so many nervous, fearful, anxious dogs that jut put on the brakes around everything, they refuse to move because of a planter, a recycle bin, a flooring change, a sound the smallest thing. No amount of food, toys, praise or love is going to change that. So the go to for most people is time, well my philosophy and if you think a little bit deeper instead of taking time is the kind way, is that taking time keeps the dog in a level of fear and stress up until success, so the protocol I have done I have seen trainers do in a week or a month, so the whole time, at the start of the training each day the dog goes into stress and fear, every time until success, well why not just it all done in minutes instead (because folks believe force is bad, that is why) well, if I could get over a phobia, anxiety or something holding me back in a day even though it was something difficult to do in the moment I would be so thankful.
