The meaning of being "elect". God already knew the plans he had for you, yet gave you free will to choose Him. He chose you to accomplish His purposes.

Give thanks. Why? Because that’s God’s Will in Christ, concerning you. The miracle of the Christian life is tied somehow to our willingness to thank God for what He’s doing in our lives, whether or not we like it.

Watch out for the things that make you unready — indolence and self-gratification. And then put on what’s going to protect you and keep you sane and stable in a world full of stress. 

Holiness is reflected in the use of your body. And if you want to be sure that you’re ready for the Lord Jesus Christ, be sure that you’re living in a way that honors Him in everyday living.

One of the cures of discouragement is just being able to tell somebody else who cares and who understands. Not that they’re going to change the circumstances, but they care enough to spend some time with you and, and listen to you.

To sense the presence of God when you walk into a room is normal Christianity. When you walk into a situation people should sense the presence of God — that’s holiness.

The effect of the gospel involves a turning- turning towards God or away from him. The Christian life is doing all with the blessed hope of Christ's return in mind.

The mystery of faith is that Christ lives in the believer through his Holy Spirit. Live an honest life. Living a life of sincerity and honesty is rooted in our commitment to Jesus and the Word of God.

Any time your conscience is outraged and you don't settle things, you are weakened, hindered, and deterred from doing that which is effective in the Will of God.

Being honest with God involves stopping manipulative behavior — trying to manipulate people. It involves stopping the idea of explaining away what God's word is plainly saying.
