Welcome Paddy Rocker’s the Holy Month has descended upon us and the Holiest of Days is nearly here. And as has come to be a tradition with me, this mandates a Podcast of Epic proportions to help you all celebrate in a most fantastic way. This year I thought hard and long about what I could do that would be both awesome and epic and then it struck me… What characterizes Paddy Rock and Irish Punk more than anything other than the fans? What band has become so iconic that they have transcended Irish Rock & Punk? What iconic frontman just turned 60 this year and is looking better than ever? That’s right Shane MacGowan and more specifically The Pogues. So this year I have for you a legendary St. Patrick’s Day Podcast where I look at the history of one of the most pivotal bands in history. Without The Pogues, there would be no Irish Punk and there would be no Paddy Rock and how sad would that be? So enjoy this look at The Pogues, The Popes, Shane MacGowan and many of the associated performers both before and after.
