With an unfortunate turn of events, our planned guest, BruceMichael Wilson, owner of Groundswell Farm, was not able to join us.   We show the damage caused to one of his hoop houses from severe winds.  

We paused and reflected on the appreciation for our farmers, especially for things that are out of our control that play a factor, every day: weather.   The scheduled show with BruceMichael has been rescheduled to later date in April 2021. 

To adapt, Troy welcomes his kids on the show to watch Chef Nick prepare an awesome meal including many utensil prep tips, cutting techniques, and nutrition information.

In this episode, Rodger Wasson shares is decades of experiencing traveling the U.S., and the world, helping to strengthen communities around farming.

His experience covers work in most areas of farming, including beef, pork, almonds,  strawberries and a few others.

It didn't start out as a glamourous journey.   Early in his career, he was hired into a position for which the Company had no means to pay him and he was told that he would be responsible for creating his own income.

This, ultimately, leading to decades of being head hunted by farming organizations across the U.S. for Rodger to step into as CEO to help drive change.

Dr. Michael Airhart is the CEO of Taste for The Homeless, a community leader, and driven to serve Chicago's homeless.  A journey that began as a kid:  "I was the one who was serving food to the kids. I was the one knocking on project doors asking for a can of tomato sauce, spaghetti, sugar, whatever. I would actually put a meal together for my friends.”

Today, Dr. Michael is serving the streets of Chicago seven days a week- providing hot food and clothes to those in need.

A great reminder for me (Troy), as a father of 4, that having presence in moments with your kids is important.  Responding to an email or work call while playing with your kids, or watching them play sports, is not intentional.
