Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Wyoming Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd.
Step outside right now and you'll feel 12 degrees. Overnight we bottomed out at 10. But today's calm is about to get absolutely shredded.
Southeast Wyoming climbs to 42 by 4 P.M., with southwest winds around 9 miles an hour. Central Wyoming matches that warmth, hitting 42 by 2 P.M. Winds shift south around 1 P.M., then gust to 15 miles an hour by 3 A.M. Western Wyoming stays cooler — highs near 36 by 2 P.M. All regions stay dry through tomorrow.
Then Tuesday hits like a freight train. Southeast Wyoming sees gusts to 35 miles an hour by Wednesday. Central Wyoming? Brace for 55-mile-an-hour blasts. Western Wyoming gets buried. The Tetons and Absarokas could see 15 inches by Wednesday. Jackson Hole gets 2-plus inches. If you're driving Teton Pass or South Pass this week, you'll want a Plan B.
Monday pushes near 60 degrees in the southeast — that's 20 degrees above normal — while winds ramp up statewide. Tuesday through Wednesday, western mountains get hammered with snow. Central and southeast regions face high wind warnings. Thursday and Friday stay windy but dry out, with highs in the 50s. Saturday cools slightly, but sunshine returns.
Sunrise today at 6:45 A.M., sunset at 5:42 P.M. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight. Air quality is excellent, so while you can.
Quick favor — if this helps you plan your week, share it with someone who could use the heads-up.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
