The Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:5) - "Blessed! The meek..." There is power in a quiet and gentle spirit....the same kind of spirit Jesus possessed. God wants this power to flow through us, as we allow our lives to become entwined with His.

The Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:4) - "Blessed! The mourning ones... for they will be comforted." Our mourning comes from recognizing our povertiy, our helplessness. The solution is not fixing our poverty and getting past our mourning. The comfort of His presence is the solution.

The Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:4) - "Blessed! The mourning ones..." When we confront our poverty of spirit, we will mourn; when we embrace it, not as a flaw to be overcome, but as who we inescapably are, we are blessed.
