Nearly a year on from Alternative Roots, Ming Strike reconnects with two artists from the festival, Bunga and Jade. Starting from their experience of taking part in Alternative Roots, we talk through what has shifted in the past year — from identity, craft and embodiment to migration, belonging and community. Some things have developed, some remain unresolved, and some have quietly moved somewhere new.
從去年小明拆台主辦的 Alternative Roots 藝術節到現在已經過去了快一年，本期我們訪問了兩位參與藝術節的藝術家 Bunga 和 Jade，從去年參與藝術節的經驗出發，一路聊到這些日子的變化，也分享了她們對身份、craft、embodiment、migration 與 community 的思考。有些掙扎，有些發展，有些停滯，也有些慢慢長出了新的方向。
Bunga Yuridespita is an Indonesian artist based in London, working across wearable sculpture, installation, painting, sound, and performance. Her practice explores the relationship between body, space, identity, and perception.

Jade Johnson is a UK-born artist and designer of Indigenous Taiwanese (Amis) heritage. Her practice centres craft, heritage revival, community engagement, and intergenerational connection across illustration, textiles, ceramics, and workshop-based work.
