If you are in sales, you will probably be told by the president to take on new customers. Of course, if you don't get new clients, the company's business may be drowned out. However, it is often the case that companies are so focused on new business that they neglect to take care of existing customers. From a long-term perspective, taking care of existing customers is more important than acquiring many new customers.
