As Andy has moved out from Sydney to a small regional town recently, in this episode we go through the difference between regional/rural vs metro life specifically for Asians. Mei-Wing has also done a few stints in the regional area for her previous job where Jason has not been exposed to regional life at all. Thus, with three different levels of experience, we dwell on each person's individual experiences are and expectations. Hope this provides some insights into what you might expect if you travel regionally in Australia as an Asian.

It's interesting that even though we all celebrate Chinese New Year, we all do it differently - Andy only realised that you have to bless the counterpart in order to receive your red pockets lol! He's been getting his money too easily.

It is 5 days late to our Christmas podcast (so sorry about the delay, we actually did record this prior to Christmas but it took me so long to upload it). In this podcast, we deep dive into what Christmas looks like to us, specifically Asian Australians. Here we talk about how we would celebrate Christmas such as giving specific presents to whether we would set up Christmas trees. We also talk about having a Summer Christmas where it deviates from the norm of a "White" Christmas in movies and what we long for as our ideal Christmas.

This episode will conclude our first ever season since starting this podcast early this year. We have come a long way from organising the recording room (Andy repainting the whole room white and re-arranging the furnitures) to Jason purchasing our podcast setup (mics/headphones/interfaces where the three of us agreed on the prices). We have thoroughly enjoyed producing these episodes and will continue to do so in 2022. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to listen to us rambling on random Asian Australian things and I can't believe we have done a total of 16 episodes for this season! Thank you again.

Lo and behold… we have our first official guest on our XO Jam Podcast! It feels so official to finally have our first guest to be featured on our Podcast and who would fit the role? Our good friend Caroline from high school! It’s also been a while since we all caught up and this is basically us capturing our authentic conversation of meeting each other for the first time in 5 years! Our take on the new recent Asian blockbuster Marvel Movie! Here we dive into the new Shang Chi movie, where we talk about what we loved and what we hated in the movie. We all had different opinions so it's a good discussion to have, whether it's from the cultural appropriation to the plot and GFX! Nevertheless, it is so refreshing to see an Asian superhero in the Movies, we have lacked Asian representation in the movie industry for so long.

Sydney is finally out of lockdown after 4 months where no one could leave their local council of residence. Restaurants, pubs, movies were all closed during the lockdown. In this virtual podcast, we explore everything that we want to do as soon as the lockdown has lifted and these include watching Shang Chi in the cinemas to eating hotpot together once again.

So Sydney and NSW in Australia have plunged into their second lockdown in the last 2 months. Everyone including us has been living the lockdown lifestyle which you may or may not be familiar with. In this episode, we give you updates on our lives and what we're been doing in lockdown. These include our cooking adventures with air fryers, sleeping habits, and motivational levels. Also, this is another fun fact - this is our FIRST virtual podcast so you may hear our sound quality has taken a beating (especially on Andy's side as he didn't bring his microphone to his new regional home...)
