MrJears rejoins the podcast in Thane’s stead, and joins Silver for another timely episode of XP Gains. In this episode, we talk about staying at home, Final Fantasy VII, Civilization VI, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Total War Warhammer II and Apex Legends.

The last year has been quite weird, and given the circumstances, MrSilverstrike has an announcement about the future of the show. We’re still planning future episodes, but your favorite host MacThane is going to be absent for a while and here’s why. In the meanwhile, we’re hard at work bringing you episode 18. From now on, Silver will be joined by MrJears for future episodes.

MacThane and MrSilverstrike return after nine months of absence with a new episode where they catch up with a talk about Ring Fit Adventure, we talk about Anthem 2.0 briefly, discuss the setting of Death Stranding, Assassin’s Creed Origins & Odyssey. We also cover The Witcher, announce our completion of Divinity Original Sin 2 and talk about last year’s delay season where all games were delayed for a couple of months. Then, we talk about some games you could be playing while stuck inside.

MrSilverstrike and MacThane cover various gameplay mechanics in this episode, including the point of RNG, level scaling, difficulty in video games, the point of early access, and more. This is a lengthy episode where we talk at length about some of these topics.

MacThane and MrSilverstrike discuss the games they’ve recently played, Destiny 2’s upcoming announcement, Anthem’s continued failure, Fire Emblem Heroes being banned in Belgium, and they also talk for a while about microtransactions.

MrSilverstrike and MacThane cover the news about Anthem’s troubled development, they talk about the Epic Games exclusives and their launcher, as well as Google’s new streaming service announcement, Google Stadia.

Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall, shadowdropped a new game that has taken the world by storm: Apex Legends. MacThane and MrSilverstrike explain why it is so delightful to play, and just a very polished game in general.

MacThane and MrSilverstrike have played Anthem during the VIP demo weekend, and this episode is solely spent on discussing this demo. (This episode also includes a fun blooper reel of the guys attempting to record a proper intro for this episode. They failed spectacularly.)

In this special, MrSilverstrike and MacThane look back at the podcasts they made this year. They also look at some of the biggest games and industry trends over the past twelve months. As if that wasn’t enough, they also chose a game for each month this year that they’d recommend you look at.
