  • Higher ACT

    Higher ACT (Average Customer Transaction)

    The Five Steps:

    1. Greet the customer within 5 seconds

    • This lets the customer know that you see them and that you care.
    • Use a warm and happy greeting
    • Make eye contact with the customer
    • Even if you have a line of people look-up and greet the customer that just walked in the door.
    • The greeting sets the mood for the customer’s interaction.

    2. Have more customer engagement

    • Introduce yourself to the customer
    • Ask for the customer’s name! (Customers spend more money when you use their first name during the interaction.)

    3. Sell to the customer’s need not their wants

    • Ask open ended questions to find out what their needs are.
    • Example: What brings you in today? Can I help you find something? Is there something in particular that you need?
    • Focus on selling the customer’s needs. This will create a relationship.
    • Find out the customers Why? And What?

    4. Introduce the customers to other products and services

    • Do not forget this step.
    • It lets the customer know about the other product and service that you offer
    • This can trigger a need or a want that you did not recognize before.
    • Introduce products and services that compliments their original need.
    • You can also introduce them to impulse items at the register.

    5. Thank the customer and give them a bounce back

    • At the end of the transaction always thank the customer and ask them to come back
    • Ask the customer to leave a review if they had a good experience with you.
    • Give some sort of bounce back or coupon with the receipt.
    • The bounce back can just be informational only
    • Use a simple talk track to help reinforce the bounce back.
    • Example: Employee: Did you know we have notary service? Customer: Yes or No Employee: Great if you need a notary in the future please come back to see us.

  • Time Vampires

    Time Vampires

    Proactive vs Reactive Communication

    Reactive Communication

    • What is Reactive Communication
    • When people have a direct line of communication with you and can reach you at any time.
    • Examples: Phone Calls, Emails, Text, Voice Mail, Messaging Apps, Social Media …. etc.
    • These communication methods eat up you time throughout your day.
    • When people do have direct communication with you, they do pleasantries: Examples: How is your day? What are you doing this weekend?
    • You need to create distance between who and how you communicate.
    • Reactive communication is nothing more than letting people steal time out of your day.
    • They are called “Time Vampires” and they do not value your time.
    • “Time Vampires” wreak havoc on your daily productivity.

    Proactive Communication

    • What is Proactive Communication?
    • It is when you put some communication distance between you and your “Time Vampires”
    • It is a set of rules in conjunction with one communication method that will free up your time.
    • You have to be disciplined to take back you time.
    • Here are some rules and communication methods:
    • Pick a communication method and stick to it: Like “Voxer”, “Emails”, “Texts”, “Phone Calls”
    • I like the “Voxer” app. Here are some that are similar: Telegram, WhatsApp, Telegram X, Zello, aTalk, Bettergram Messenger, Talkie. Just google Voxer alternatives.
    • Pick 2-time frames within a day that you will communicate with people. Example: 7:00am to 7:30am and 4:00pm to 4:30pm
    • Do not vary from the time frame.
    • Start out slow. Pick one small group of people and apply this principle.
    • As people get use to this communication, add more group in.
    • You make the rules so you can make the exceptions. Just make sure you only have one or two of them.

  • A Bob Day

    A Bob Day

    What is "A Bob Day"?

    • A Bob Day is when you add the word "Bob" to the end of someone's first name.
    • Example: John Bob, Steve Bob, Karen Bob, Brittany Bob and so on .......
    • You do this for the entire day and have some FUN with it.
    • The best part is only let a few people in on the Bob joke and act like you are just using their first name.
    • It may cause a little confusion at first but then let them in on the joke and move on to the next person.

    Why have "A Bob Day"

    • The purpose of "A Bob Day" is to change your outlook for that day. Take the negative and change it to a positive with just one word "Bob".
    • Have fun with "A Bob Day"! It just doesn't have to be about using the word "Bob", it is all about having a positive mindset and having FUN!
    • "A Bob Day" is all about getting out of your normal routes and spicing it up a little bit with some FUN.
    • Get creative with "A Bob Day"! They are all about have FUN!

  • Identity - Learner (Part 2)

Identity – The Continual Learner (Ep 31)

    Identity – The Continual Learner

    • Your new identity is of the continual learner
    • Continual learner trumps all other identities
    • Continual learner is an umbrella identity because all other identities fall under this one.

ABL = Always Be Learning (Tom Bilyeu)

    • Learn during your “down time.” Examples: When you are driving, when you are showing or bathing, Wake up an hour earlier, the last 30 minutes of the day, In waiting rooms, learn instead of being on social media.
    • Methods of learning. Examples: Podcast, Audio books, eBooks, paper books, videos, phone apps, software, Reddit
    • Do not fall into learning loops. You are learning just to be learning. You are learning to multiple things at a time. You are a learning loop addict. Here is how to not fall in the trap of learning loops.

    Learn With Intention

    • What is the purpose of what you are learning?
    • What is the value of learning?
    • What category does it fall into?

Learn One Thing At A Time

    • Start off learning one thing at a time until you master it.
    • After you mastered one thing at a time then you can be learning multiple things at a time but only 1 per category and no more than 2 categories at a time.
    • If you take on to may projects to learn at a time you will retain little of what you learned.

Take Action On What You Have Learned

    • Have you ever bought a book, eBook or audio book and never read or listened to the book?
    • Have you ever bought a course and never took it?
    • Have you ever gone to a seminar or convention and missed some or most of it?
    • Are you looking for the next shinny thing?
    • You have to learn one thing at a time and then take action on it. Example: read a book, take notes as you read, after you finish the book go over your notes, then apply what you read to your life.
    • Move on to the next thing you need to learn and repeat the steps.

  • Ep-30 Identity - Learner (Part 1)

Identity – The Learner (Part 1)

Identity – the fact of being who you or what a person is

Identity is a shorthand way of knowing who you are.

Identities normally drive you in some sort of way towards something

We just kind of default into what ever identity make sense in that chapter of our lives

Our identities are tied to our emotions and can hurt us

We normally have different identities in various stages of our lives

We default to what is most prevalent in our life at that time.

The identities we pick for ourselves can be either positive or negative and we are not even conscious of it

    Examples of Identities:

All identities have flaws to them. The identity can make you or break you. It can cause issues or problems. It can mentally break you down.

If you take on the identity of the Learner, then when you fail, then you just learned something, and it is not devastating to you. One of the best ways to learn is through failure.

If you adopt the identity of Learner, you can grow and move forward with out all of the hang-up of other identities.

The identity of learner is as close to perfection that anyone can get, but it is not perfect because we are not perfect.

The anti-fragile identity is that the more it is attacked the better you become is the LEARNER

The learner identy also has a flaw and we will talk about it in the next episode.

  • Episode 28 - Power of Yet

    Power of YET

    • Have you discovered the “Power of Yet”?
    • The “Power of Yet” is simply a positive growth mindset for everyone.
    • Here is the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset
    • A simple way to start changing to a growth mindset, is by the use of a little word, yet. In essence the word means a realization that some things are worth waiting for, and those things take work. It’s not always easy, but the power of this small word allows for success. Changing your words can help you begin to make the change from a fixed to a growth mindset.

What if instead of saying “I can’t do this”, you say “I can’t do this yet”?

What if instead of saying “I’m not good at this”, you say “I’m not good at this yet”?

What if instead of saying “I don’t understand this”, you say “I don’t understand this yet”?

What if instead of saying “It doesn’t work”, you say “It doesn’t work yet”?

What if instead of saying “this doesn’t make sense”, you say “this doesn’t make sense yet”?
    • The use of “yet” is particularly potent in these three situations: learning, maintaining engagement and increasing confidence
    • Here is the flip side of the coin: “The Tyranny of Now”.
    • Now is always looking for instance gratification.
    • Now is all about in the present.
    • Now has no patients
    • Now has no persistence
    • Now always gives up fast
    • Now runs away from difficulty
    • A growth mindset teaches perseverance.
    • Perseverance - persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
    • Effort and difficulty are transformed from” I can’t do it” to “I can’t do it YET”
    • Take any negative statement and add “Yet” to the end of it. The statement then gets transformed to a positive one. That is the power of “YET”.
