Wagner James Au is the author of "Making a Metaverse That Matters" (Wiley, 2023), a book based on his 20 years of experience in the metaverse industry, starting as the first journalist officially embedded inside a virtual world. He is currently searching for new and exciting opportunities to apply his extensive knowledge to the next generation of the Metaverse.

As a metaverse content and marketing strategist, James has consulted on metaverse-related projects for companies such as Linden Lab and Samsung, among many others.

His writing about virtual worlds has been featured in esteemed publications like The Atlantic, the Wall Street Journal, and Wired. His blog, New World Notes (nwn.blogs.com), launched in 2006, is the longest-running and most widely read site devoted to Metaverse news and culture.
