  • Forum: No place at the inn? Homelessness and housing in modern Australia
At present, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 13% of the population is living in relative poverty. This translates to almost three million Australians, and obviously includes young people, who can be amongst the most vulnerable and excluded from society. Come to share a story, or hear a story; but you must be a part of this challenging reflection.
This workshop also includes some comments from Bishop Robert McGuckin, the Bishop of Toowoomba.

  • Elise Ganley - Change Yourself, Change the World. SEE-JUDGE-ACT for Students
SEE the issues you care about, JUDGE what the Gospel calls us to do about it, and ACT to make a difference. The Young Christian Students movement (YCS) is run entirely by high school students and so is this session! Using the example of Jesus, we can together build an inclusive Australia and society of justice and peace. All are welcome (students and people that work with us) to come along and share how to be student leaders that put faith into action.

  • James Camden - I’m now a badged Leader! Help me do the role justice!
So, you’ve just made a speech, you’ve been voted in and now you’re wearing a shiny badge and standing in front of hundreds of your peers and teachers. What did you sign up for? What does this mean? Do you know enough about leadership? You’re freaking out? That’s’ okay! Thousands of young people across Australia are also doing this for the first time. The weight of the badge will get lighter when we get together and talk about what this all means and how we can make the most of 12 months.
