YAAAASVU

Onwards we push with the third installation of the Saga of Dana Lewis!!! This time around, Mal and Justin cover S12E8, "Penetration". Our beloved MGH finds herself the victim, and if you think she's going to make it easy on Benson & Stabler and the rest of the SVU crew, then you don't watch the show, care nothing about our podcast or our feelings, and are simply a mean, mean person. Anyway, listen as Mal gets confused about names and Justin gets confused over unsuitable attractions. Only one more edition of the Saga after this one, folks! Hope your following along!

A quick note...

The story continues in this week's latest YAAAASVU!! A woman seems to be hiding who attacked her, and Benson gets ruul stalker-y with the victim as she tries to solve the case. But who does she run into? Our old friend, MGH, with a holster full of secrets. Mal and Justin talk eco-terrorism, the price of real estate on Houston (that's HOW-stin), and explicitly DON'T explain how food co-ops work. We hope you're following along, as we're halfway through...[pregnant pause]... THE SAGA OF DANA LEWIS.

American--nay, international treasure Marcia Gay Harden has enjoyed an illustrious career, highlights of which we adorn with the utmost praise and adulation...

But let's get real: the only role we're concerned with is her amazing run of guest appearances on our fave, Law & Order:SVU. We start our 4-part journey with Season 7, Episode 6, "Raw". It's got racism, guns, child murder -- y'know, the things this podcast finds entertaining-question-mark?

It's a rough one, but the amazing MGH is there to...well, listen and find out.

We made it to TEN!!! That's 2 times 5 -- Season 5, that is. In the latest episode, mean girls and sadistic doctors feel the full force of the Special Victims Unit. Mal talks bullying and breaking points discussing E17 "Mean", and in E5 "Serendipity" Justin rehashes ADA Casey Novak's Law & Order debut in a harrowing case that may prove to be her last (spoiler: it's not). They came for the children, but they got Stabler & Benson.

Justin sounds like he's in a cave and Mallory regales with tales of "Homie Alone" in the latest episode! Oh yeah, and they talk about SVU. "Smut" (S10E10) is the ugly ex-step-cousin (twice-removed) of "While You Were Sleeping," and more terrible men meet grisly ends in "Victims" (S2E13). Both Eric Roberts and Kelly Hu need better work.

In this episode, Mallory and Justin avoid the terrors of of juvenile onslaught by delving into two episodes that threaten to break one Detective Olivia Benson -- S7E3 "911" & S5E9 "Control." How was the world created, and what exactly is the deal with cell towers? Those answers are NOT in this episode. But dog collars and advanced German technology? Aplenty. Subscribe and share!!

We get back to basics as we tackle another single episode: Mal's pick "Doubt" (S6E8). In a brutal he-said-she-said, credibility is key. Everyone is tested: the victim, the accused, our detectives, and even your friendly neighborhood podcasters. Whose side are you on? (I mean, hopefully ours...)

We try out a new format and discuss one episode that we both watched and Justin picked a doozy- Transistions (s10ep14). Episode description "A man is brutally beaten outside a strip club because of his lack of support for his transgender teenage daughter's desire for gender reassignment."

Come- enjoy another fun-filled episode of YAAAASVU as we discuss Annihilated (S8ep20) and learn why you should never believe someone is in the CIA. Then we delve into how much Mallory loves lifetime movies and a specific actress in those movies in general with Tragedy (S5ep1).
