I wasn’t very clear when speaking about Erasmus. Here is what I want you to know about Erasmus. He published the Latin version of the Bible in parallel with the Greek. He worked very hard in correcting the Latin based on the Greek manuscipts that he had available. Thanks to the invention of the printing press, Erasmus’ Greek text was then made widely available for purchase and thus people such as Martin Luther and later William Tyndale were able to own and study a printed copy of the Greek text. The printing press along with Erasmus’ parallel Latin and Greek text made the study of the Scriptures available to people in a way it had never been before in history.

The translation of God's message of salvation into the language of the hearer has always been at the center of God's heart as seen at Pentecost.
