Hello friends of Hive Open Mic, it's a joy to share new songs with you again. I confess that this week's theme was a challenge, but there are so many songs and the interpretations are endless that I remembered a medley by Natalie Cole that I've always liked for its lyrics and warm voice. "Voy a apaga la luz" and "Contigo Aprendí" are two songs by the maestro Armando Manzanero that speak about the joys of love. Both are very romantic and heartfelt. The first one, above all, invites you to draw with your imagination everything that would happen between two lovers in a romantic encounter, all the passion that would overflow between them. Este filme estadounidense fue estrenado en diciembre de 1996 y la actriz que lo protagiza , que incluso ganó un Globo de Oro por su papel fue Madonna. Maravilloso el filme que cuenta la historia de Eva Perón, Primera de Dama de Argentina por los años 40. Ella fue muy querida por el pueblo pues defendió el derecho de las mujeres al sufragio y gestionó muchísimos cambios en favor de los trabajadores y los más humildes.La canción que les traigo es el momento de un emotivo discurso ante el pueblo de Buenos Aires.Les recomiendo este filme y deseo que disfruten de esta bella canción llena de sentimiento. Today I do so with great pleasure, as I bring you the song "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina," from the film Evita. This American film was released in December 1996, and the actress who starred in it, who even won a Golden Globe for her role, was Madonna. This is a wonderful film that tells the story of Eva Perón, First Lady of Argentina in the 1940s. She was beloved by the people because she defended women's right to vote and brought about many changes in favor of workers and the poor. Hola amigos de la comunidad. Que alegría poder participar una vez más en esta iniciativa tan especial. El tema de esta semana me gusta muchísimo pues me encantan los abrazos y si son de un ser muy cercano y querido mucho más. Para esta ocasión he escogido una canción que forma parte de la película "Wakanda The Black Panther". "Lift me up", es un tema interpretado por Rihanna a quien admiro y disfruto mucho. Está canción habla de la necesidad de pasar tiempo junto al ser querido, de refugiarse en él cuando las cosas no marchan del todo bien y pide más que un abrazo un momentáneo, un sostén. Holde me , holde me, dice la letra y es que la cantante pide ese abrazo largo y sostenido en el tiempo, ese cuidado lleno de ternura y comfort que nos protege y nos alienta a seguir y enfrentar la vida , sabiendo que podemos regresar a ese espacio seguro. Pienso en el abrazo de una madre, como ese no creo que haya otro , y también, el de un amigo leal o una pareja consciente. Muy lindo el tema de la semana, disfruté mucho cantar está canción que desde la primera vez que la escuché me conmovió, es muy sencilla pero muy emotiva y la música tiene un no sé qué que atrapa sin dudas. Hola amigos de Hive Open Mic. Cómo cada semana es un placer poder participar y compartir con ustedes nuevas canciones. Para el tema de la semana, después de pensar en muchas opciones, elegí este tema c que a todos nos ha hecho bailar y gozar de lo lindo. "Cachita "es una canción del emblemático músico puertorriqueño Rafael Hernández. Yo ,cómo muchos , supongo, pensaba que está canción era cubana por su ritmo y su picardía en la letra. El jibarito como también se le conoce s este autor, vivió en la Habana entre 1920 y 1925 donde trabajó cómo músico y seguramente bebió de nuestra sabia. Además de que se dice que Cuba y Puerto Rico son de un pájaro las dos alas ,y es que nos parecemos mucho, en la sabrosura, la alegría y el amor por la música. Cachita es sin dudas una canción muy alegre, contagiosa y su letra nos dice que Cachita está alborotá, y ahora baila el cha cha chá. Para la mayoría de los latinos estar alborotao es estar eufórico,en una manera positiva, listos para el disfrute y según mi opinión Cachita quiere bailar y quizás quiera algo más...¿Qué creen ustedes?😉

Hello friends of Hive Open Mic! As every week, it is a pleasure to be able to participate and share new songs with you. For this week's theme, after considering many options, I chose this song, one that has made us all dance and enjoy ourselves so much. "Cachita" is a song by the emblematic Puerto Rican musician Rafael Hernández. I, like many, I suppose, thought this song was Cuban because of its rhythm and the mischievous lyrics. El jibarito, as this author is also known, lived in Havana between 1920 and 1925, where he worked as a musician and surely absorbed our wisdom. Besides the saying that Cuba and Puerto Rico are two wings of a bird, we are very similar in our flavor, joy, and love of music. Cachita is undoubtedly a very happy, contagious song, and its lyrics tell us that Cachita is excited and now she's dancing the cha cha cha. For most Latinos, being "alborotao" means being euphoric, in a positive way, ready to enjoy, and in my opinion, Cachita wants to dance and maybe wants something more... What do you think? 😉

Hola amigos de Hive Open Mic , es un placer volver a participar en este espacio y esta vez con un tema tan enigmático y atrayente como lo es el mito de las sirenas. Confieso que desde niña quería ser como la sirenita Ariel y me fascinaba la idea de ser una sirena y vivir todas aquellas aventuras del filme. Ya de mayor me sigue gustando la idea de que hayan existido y que las historias de marinos perdidos por sus cantos sean ciertas. Hoy les comparto el tema "My jolly sailor bold", una canción de marineros del siglo XVII, que fue arreglada e incluida en uno de los filmes de la saga "Piratas del Caribe". Aquí es interpretada por una sirena que utiliza sus encantos para llevar a los marineros directo a una trampa y ahogar a toda la tripulación. Es sin dudas una canción muy bonita por su mensaje de amor y compromiso con un marinero, la espera y la añoranza. Deseo que la disfruten y me encantaría leerlos. Lindo fin de semana. Bendiciones.

Hello friends of Hive Open Mic, it's a pleasure to participate again in this space, and this time with a topic as enigmatic and alluring as the myth of mermaids. I confess that since I was a child I wanted to be like Ariel, the little mermaid, and I was fascinated by the idea of being a mermaid and living all those adventures in the film. Now that I'm older, I still love the idea that they existed and that the stories of sailors lost because of their songs are true. Today I'm sharing the song "My Jolly Sailor Boy," a 17th-century sailor song that was arranged and included in one of the films in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" saga. Here it's performed by a mermaid who uses her charms to lead the sailors straight into a trap and drown the entire crew. Hola amigos de esta maravillosa comunidad, deseo que se encuentren muy bien y muy activos gracias a la música. Hace un tiempo que no comparto canciones que me gustan con los amigos de Sound Music pero felizmente he vuelto. Y lo hago con una canción que me atrapó desde la primera vez que la escuché en la lista de reproducción de mi hermano. Es un tema muy sencillo pero tiene ese estilo de los años 50 que me fascina y realmente es pegajosa. Su letra , sencilla también nos habla de como el protagonista siente que está totalmente enamorado y que no volverá a hacerlo jamás si no es de esa misma persona. Describe como estaba perdido en la oscuridad antes de encontrar ese amor y de como quiere todo con ella y que no la volverá a dejar ir ,como una vez lo hizo. Es muy bonita , muy optimista y la melodía cadenciosa , me gustan las canciones de este tipo y espero que la disfruten tanto como yo. Un abrazo a todos y que la música los diga acompañando. And I'm doing it with a song that captivated me from the first time I heard it on my brother's playlist. It's a very simple song, but it has that 1950s style that fascinates me, and it's truly catchy. Its simple lyrics also tell us how the protagonist feels he's completely in love and that he'll never do it again unless it's with that same person. It describes how he was lost in the darkness before finding that love and how he wants everything with her and that he won't let her go again, like he once did.
