Today, we teleport into an academic's living room. Adam Ortego is a Master of Architecture student at UL, a chill vibe provider, and an old pal of mine from our drum major days. We discuss dreaming big, critiquing our current societal systems, both cultural and economic. We declare Mardi Gras a grandiose display of drunken gluttony, appreciate Costco's fresh baked bagels in bulk, and explain what doesn't quite make sense about Pixar plotlines. This episode is a melting pot of catharsis, field notes, and thesis statements. For example, as Ortego once said, "Ratatouille is a gay coming of age movie incorporating gender norms, toxic masculinity, and regional, economical, and racial disparities in arts, culture, and standard of living."Â
And that's just That on That!
*Editor's note: our "main guy" in Disney Pixar's Ratatouille is Italian, not American, and his name is Alfredo Linguini.
