This week marks the 50-year anniversary of the birth of hip-hop, far away in Bronx in NY, USA. It has since grown in legitimacy to become one of the most popular genres of music around the world. So what's happening right now in the UK and Ireland? We dove into the modern UK and Irish hip hop scenes, looking at some of the unique subgenres hip hop has spawned through collaborations and shared influences, from grime, UK drill, neo-jazz drawing from jazz and RnB particularly in London, grime-punk, etc. We also looked at Welsh and Irish hip hop.
