From the Genesis to the Revelation, Satan's goal has been to destroy. He has not given up the fight even to this day. As we look at "Silent Night" we can realise that this night would have been anything but. Satan was doing everything he can to destroy, distract, discredit, derail and defeat the work of God.

As we understand the gospel more, we should be compelled to share it. Share it not just with those around us, but to all nations. God often calls us in to places we may be unsure of, but he promises to go with us. As we ask God to stretch us, may we be willing to go where he is calling us.

The church in Acts is the perfect example for us to follow as we are the church where we are. God calls us to be His people no matter where we are and who we are with. God wants to stretch us further to not only build our faith but also to build His kingdom.

Many think the Jesus spoke only to the Disciples, the leaders, the priests, telling them to Witness. What we find is has called us all to be witnesses. We also find that if we fail to witness, he will use someone else. It is far better to obey God and let him use you in His plan, than it is to have Him do His plan and you miss out on being a part.

As the disciples waited for the Holy Spirit they could have easily become frustrated at the time where "nothing seemed to be happening". God was using that time to build them and draw them to Him. There will be times where we feel called to go, but need to wait as God works in our lives and builds works on our heart and skills.

It’s hard to be humble when you’re already perfect, right? Humility can be hard, it’s far easier to do things our own way. We find in life that pride will move us away from God. Where are we resisting Gods authority over us, work, government, church, spouse, parents?

"I only lie sometimes." "I just haven't got around to giving back that tool I borrowed." Often we think that a little lie or and small sin isn't so bad. In reality, what we find is that from little sins, big sins grow. Its easier to pull out a small weed than it is to try remove a forest of overgrown vines. May we recognise the small sins and ask God to keep us in check, before they get to far.

As Paul says to the Corinthian’s, we are all called to be saints. We are called to serve and have been equipped by Christ with many gifts. Too often, we get caught up in the pleasures of this world. We misuse or fail to use the gifts we have been given. Let us serve where we have been placed. Living in this world but driven by Christ’s power over this world and by the saving Grace of Salvation.

Sometimes we can get caught up with all the rules surrounding religion. Jesus came to set us free! Do we act different when the boss is watching? How about when the police are following you driving? How much different would we live our lives if we recognised Jesus is always with us. May we focus on the person rather than the rules.
