A U.S. Navy veteran, Mike is known throughout the US as a subject matter expert on leadership development, government relations, and veteran transition issues. He has over 20 years of experience in project management, coaching, and process improvement working in and with the military, startups, federal and state agencies, nonprofits, universities, and Fortune 500 companies. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Operation Military Family Cares –– a 501(c)(3) veteran service organization and technology provider that combats veteran homelessness while working to strengthen relationships and equip communities and families for success. Schindler is also the Program Manager of Community Engagement & Innovation for the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University. He is responsible for fostering and maintaining a relationship with community agencies that provide services to veterans, service members, and military families in a number of states for the IVMF AmericaServe’s network. Mike is a guest writer for several national publications, The Military Wire blog and is also the author of two books: “U.S. Veterans in the Workforce: Why the 7% is America’s Greatest Asset” and “Operation Military Family” - which was endorsed by retired General Tommy Franks and retired General Peter Chiarelli. Mike has been featured on numerous national radio shows, including CBS radio, Entrepreneur Radio, the Lars Larson Show, is a key contributor on Q13 Fox TV in Seattle.
