Welcome to the Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Noam Raucher looks at Masechet Yevamot, Daf 12.
This episode continues it’s debate over which of the 15 women originally listed in the Mishnah are prohibited from yibum or chalitza. One element they bring up is the matter of zikah – a status in which the widow is now considered the wife of the brother prior to any yibum ceremony taking place.
