Guest speaker Thenu Herath, CEO of Oaktree, joined us at Altitude Day Melbourne. Thenu is no stranger to the yLead community, having connected and volunteered with us for many years. Thenu’s impact in the worlds she is involved in, is possible because she chooses to step out in courage each day. We asked Thenu all about stepping out in courage, check out what she had to say!

Captains & Poets (Canada) teamed up with yLead (Australia) to allow educators to have a discussion on how we can incorporate or introduce leadership in the classroom. We had a panel of educators who shared their wisdom, advice, and experiences on how they have already done this at their schools. It was super valuable to have educators from all across Australia and Canada join us to share in this experience!

Dina Oro (Deputy Principal for Student Wellbeing) and Grace Bowles (2020 Graduate) join our CEO Bel Yorston in a fun conversation about Leadership.

Dina Oro discusses her success in working with her students, her open door policy and how important it is as an educator and Deputy Principal to help students find confidence in themselves.

2020 College Captain, Grace opens up about her own self doubt, what ASLC allowed her to discover about herself and what were the actions she put into place upon her return to ASLC.

This is the final episode in The Road to ASLC season. We hope you have enjoyed the ride and look forward to returning in the new year.

We've dropped NEW Merch! Check us out at ylead.com.au.

Greg Wacker (Head of Centre for Entrepreneurship and Leadership) & Nick Murphy (2021 School Captain and 2021 ASLC Participant) from Canterbury College join our CEO Bel Yorston to speak about all things leadership and legacy.

2021 School Captain Nick also discusses what to expect in the year of leading the school, including setting realistic expectations, what he would tell School executives all while going through his final exams.

Every year yLead facilitates The Australian Student Leadership Conference (ASLC). A transformative three day residential conference that skills and empowers hundreds of student leaders across Australia. Since its humble beginnings in 1991 (QLD), ASLC is ever evolving and is now hosted in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Townsville and has a relative in New Zealand called 'Rangatira'.

Often referred to as 'life-changing' and 'hard to describe', we want to thank Kenn Santos for putting together a real representation of the impact of ASLC.
