The vagus nerve, also known as the "wandering nerve," is a crucial component of the parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for rest and “digest.” By coming into a pose that supports the parasympathetic nervous system, you can experience inner calm, reset your nervous system, lower brain activity, and relax your muscles, all of which support digestion.
But that's not all! I will also share with you a way to augment the effectiveness of the pose by stimulating the vagus nerve, regulating heart rate variability (HRV), and reducing inflammation through the release of anti-inflammatory neurotransmitters.
