There were those who thought the crucifixion of Jesus would stop what they saw as a "rebel" movement against their culture. That all changed when Jesus appeared to a few hundred-people following His resurrection and charged them to be witnesses and make disciples of Him. As Christianity spread over the next several years, the culture thought they could suppress this new sect by threats, persecution, imprisonment, and death; only to see it become an unstoppable force. Now, here we are 2,000 years later, recipients of their tenacity and faithfulness. In this series of messages from the book of Acts, we will look at how the church began 2 millennia ago and see what we can learn and embrace as we move forward as the church of Jesus Christ.
