I hope you didn’t get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I almost did. When I woke up, it was still dark outside. No cars driving by. No train noises off in the distance. No breakfast cooking. Nothing was going on. Everything was still and quiet. And I just woke up. Couldn’t sleep. At first I was a little mad because I didn’t get to sleep as long as I wanted. Then I got up, got a drink of water, ate a piece of toast with butter and grape jelly, and thought about how I’m lucky to be alive. Then I started to think about how much God loves me. And how much He’s loved me every day and night of my life. And I started to feel better…and better…and finally good.

You get to choose how you’ll be today. Do you really wanna be grumpy and make everybody frown? Naaa. You’re not really like that. You like people to smile, don’t you? Well, the easiest way to get people smiling is for you to be the first one to smile. Just think. You could start a whole day of smilers. Smile at yourself in the mirror while you brush your teeth. Then smile at mom or dad or your sister or brother or your friends. This works no matter what part of the world you live in. Trust me. I’ve done it. It works. So what do you say? Are you ready to get things started? You can do this when you remember God loves you every night and day.
