Hello. And welcome to another episode of You Are the Dream podcast. This is Judith Manriquez.
And today I wanted to talk about what I've been noticing about the interrelationship between intuition, our nervous system and how that's triggering responses in us that we are not correctly attributing to our growth.
So let's go into that. Lately I've just been noticing a lot about how our intuition is expanding and growing. So one of the things that we've all been noticing at different levels is the way that our intuitive gifts or intuitive senses have been expanding. And that Is showing up for people in all kinds of different ways.
And when you have context for it, when you know to look at your life through an expanded world of senses - so, you know, you know, things without knowing how you know them or you sense things, you see things, you hear things, you taste things, you smell things - you are able to recognize that you are receiving a lot more from the world in different ways than just through your physical senses or your mind, your mental thoughts.
So it really requires us, first of all, to recognize that for everyone, whether you're aware of your intuitive senses or not, they are heightening. And this becomes really helpful for all of us to be aware of. For those of us who are aware of our intuition, it's really helpful to be aware that our intuitive senses are heightening, they've become much more sensitive, they're much more attuned to shifts in what's happening in the non-physical world.
So let's say astrological. So when the astrology and the planets are moving in, the energies that we're receiving from the sun, the slight shifts in the emotional wellbeing of the collective planet. So when there's something, a large trauma that happens, we're just far more sensitive as a collective as an individual to the collective.
So all of these things are taking place for us. As highly intuitive people, we recognize this. We've been practicing with this. We recognize that it's hard to spend a lot of time with large groups of people because we basically blow out our nervous system. So we've known this.
Now where it becomes really relevant for us as to realize that the rest of the people around us who are not especially conversant in intuition, they too are having their intuitive senses heightened, and they don't have any context or training or understanding or conversations for understanding this. They just don't have. They've not come across it. We weren't taught at school. It wasn't acceptable. Everyone gated it.
So for them, they're having their intuitive senses heightened as well. And it's showing up in all kinds of different ways in their life. And the reason I'm sharing this with my group of people, is because we tend to be helpers or guides or mentors to others. And so it's really important to realize other people, unless they are given an open door to talk about intuition and how they know things, it doesn't occur to them to recognize that something going on in their life may be a function of being much more sensitive rather than the circumstance of what's happening in their life.
So, which brings me to the second thing is how. As your intuitive senses are heightening. How is that actually showing up in your world?
We're having responses in our nervous system. So let me say that again and, and be very clear.
As our intuitive senses are heightening and we're taking in energy in a much more refined way, we're taking in all kinds of sensory experiences in a much more refined way, it is affecting our physical nervous system.
The way I see it in my own vision is that they're actually interconnected. They're one in the same. So when you pick up on... when you're having a physical discomfort and can't figure out why- headaches, depression, uh, anxiety overwhelm, suddenly sad, suddenly angry without having a reason for it.
These are all experiences we have in our physical nervous system. And they are in many cases with the people that I've been working with related to, or connected to their higher intuitive senses, picking up on something that they may or may not understand. And it shows up in our physical bodies.
And it really does require some consciousness and awareness to say, "oh, I'm feeling like this today. And it's not related to whatever my partner did, whatever my kids did, whatever's happening at work." It's related to my intuitive senses, picking up on and receiving way more energy and vibrations than I'm accustomed to and my nervous system doesn't know what to do with it. And so this is the way it's showing up in my physical body right now.
Makes sense?
So the next thing that's happening as a result of that... so - we see the connection, like intuition heightened, much more sensitive, body needs to address it, deal with it, cause it doesn't, it's not accustomed to this. It's never had to deal with it. And it starts having the closest possible physical response to what it remembers. And it remembers anxiety. It remembers overwhelm, stress, fear, sadness, anger. It, it goes into those because our nervous system is just triggered in those ways.
I've not really experienced anybody so far having the feeling of being overjoyed. Because I think that the higher vibration energies were receiving the greater sensitivity to the energies that are around us. Since our nervous system is confused and scared at some level, it reacts with the patterns of anxiety, depression, overwhelm, sadness, anger, those kinds of things.
So the next thing, so we go down to the next level. What that's causing for us is a trigger of a trauma responses. It's triggering old patterns of trauma responses. So when our nervous system engages without us really thinking about it, cause that's what it's designed to do, it's bringing up feelings in our body that relate to different trauma response experiences we've had in the past. As a child. With our parents. In a situation. In a relationship, Which for us then brings up the memories. So the feeling tone in our body, the nervous system response in our body is bringing up a relationship for us to another experience.
And this is really uncomfortable. And you may have been seeing this show up as really extreme anxiety or depression. This is where I'm seeing it most in people who do not have the context for recognizing I have the tools to explore this, address this, work through it, shift the energy, shift the resonance. All of the tools that we develop as we go through our awakening journey.
So I want to make you all aware, the importance of this is to make you aware of how critical it is to be attentive to what is actually going on for you right now.
So take a breath, take a look. If you've been on an awakening journey for a while, like you've been doing your work, you're very deep into self-development, you're addressing the things that are making you feel bad -simplistically saying- you're working to become the person you desire to be and stop running the old patterns. For me, that means you've been going on a journey of awakening.
So you've probably become aware by this point in time on an awakening journey that there, you just have to listen to other parts of yourself for direction, not the old programming, not the voices for mom and dad, not the voices that have hurt you, not the inner voice that's been diminishing you. You really have to listen for some other piece of you that guides you towards a better, more meaningful, happy life.
And in many instances, you know, you may use the language of your heart. You may use your intuition. I tend to use intuition because I tie it to energy. And so I'm listening for an energy that is lighter, more expansive, like higher vibration.
The reason I bring this up is that when you're listening for this and you've heard through your awakening journey to listen for your intuition, then listen to take note of this pattern of receiving higher vibrations, activating your nervous system, activating trauma responses.
And here's the trick. If you've been doing your awakening work, those triggered responses, those trauma responses that are coming up may not actually be something that you need to learn through, heal, work out, any longer.
They may be echoes of old things that are resolved because you are in fact on your path to emergence.
So. It's interesting that my conversation has brought me to this place because when I started, I really did want to share about these connections.
And as I've been talking, I'm noticing that it's, there's a difference for different people. In terms of what we do with this knowing, this awareness, this knowledge, that higher intuition affecting the nervous system, triggering our trauma responses for us to address.
And for people who have not done their work, not done self-awareness work. Let's put it that way. Have not really looked at what has caused me to have this trauma response. They need to really work through their awakening path. And for some of us we're helping people work through that awakening path.
For those of us, who've done our awakening path, that cycle of intuition affecting nervous system activating trauma responses is actually a sign that we need to shift our response to those trauma responses and pay attention that we are on a emergence journey.
So let me tell you what that means. When you are beginning or going through your emergence journey, and haven't been aware of it where you're going to trip around for a while. And part of that tripping around is recognizing that these old ghost-type echoes are not necessary to be attended to in the same way that we have been attending to them.
They can be witnessed and you turn your attention to noticing that this higher vibration is an invitation to explore how to live in the higher vibration.
You've cleaned things up, you're aware of the stresses and the limitations you bought into. And now they're complete. You finished that cycle.
Emergence is about exploring: how do I step, in this world, as this new being with this new high vibration? What other response can I have in this moment? How do I retrain my nervous system to recognize that this higher vibration is more, not old? It's more, it's new. It's expansive. It's inspirational.
Did you all catch that?

We are looking at: if I was a caterpillar before and I had to walk on these branches with these types of little feet. Now I'm a butterfly and I'm exploring what it is to fly. To flap wings and have feet.
And since our body and our nervous system does not have context for how to be the new person to walk as the butterfly to fly as a butterfly, it will default to old memories, old patterns, old nervous system experiences.
And we as conscious thinking, humans need to recognize that and say," oh, I need to change how my nervous system engages with this experience." Does that make sense?
It is a really fascinating and amazing moment that we have right now for so many of us. The emergence journey is not very different than the awakening journey, but it is, in the sense that we are both at, in both times really needing to explore who we are.
And in the awakening joining journey, we're trying to find who we are by excavating the stuff that we're not. On the emergence journey we are finding out who we are. As we experienced the world with a new awareness of who we are of what's possible.
And in this case for us, it's going to be a highly intuitive experience. It is going to come through the walking of the path.
