I also call this episode "my mind's doing WHAT when I'm not aware?!". The brain is our biggest asset, one that doesn't come with an owner's manual. In this episode, I talk about tool that I use in my coaching practice with my clients. This tool brings awareness to the role our thinking plays in the outcomes in our lives.

New beliefs can take the place of the old, worn out beliefs that have gotten you to where you are now. When we want to make big changes in terms of profit or how hard we work, our brain wants to keep us where we are because it's "safe". New beliefs aren't the same as affirmations or mantras because new beliefs take into account how we will be thinking and feeling and the impact this will have on our life if we achieve our outcomes. Check out what I mean by that in this episode.

I decided to change the name of this podcast for a number of reasons. Main reason: because I can. Secondly, the name change reflects other shifts like who I specifically market to in my coaching business. I've been a licensed massage therapist for almost 20 years. I help former (and soon to be former) massage therapists use all the tools and skills they learned as massage therapists in their new businesses.
Whether you're a massage therapist or not, knowing you can change your mind about the direction you're heading any time you want to is powerful and freeing. We always have the option to make no decisions (which is a passive choice) or choose differently and it doesn't have to mean anything about us.
You've achieved your goal: got your promotion, paid off all your credit card debt or lost all the weight... you notice that you don't feel very comfortable with this new result. You're not sure how to be this new, successful you. Your brain is wanting to dismiss your success, so you start to dismiss your actions and the results you now have. You write them off as a fluke or say it was luck. Soon, you're making decisions from confusion and doubt that bring you right back where you started. Hello, self sabotage! Come on in and stay awhile!
In this episode, I talk about where you can stop the self sabotaging before in begins, enjoy and rest in your success so that you keep moving forward.

In this episode, I talk about the impact of believing thoughts like "money is easy" and "money is like air" will have on your emotions and your behavior.

I committed to a daily practice of looking at what's in my brain and deciding what I wanted to keep and what needed to go. My takeaways have been realizing that the past has nothing to do with my present and future, I can nourish myself with mundane things and investing time and energy into myself is the best gift I can give myself, and to others.
Paula Cowan, career transition strategist and coach, is my guest for this episode.
We talked about the necessity of building and nurturing your network, regardless of where you are in your career. The four most common objections people have to investing in themselves and their goals are money, time, other people and the perception that they will have to sacrifice something to achieve it. In this episode, I talk about 3 ways to look at your objections clearly so that you can see past them.
