It's the visuals!!!!
It's been ages since I've had a children's book in my hands. I used to do read-aloud events for children at pre-schools, libraries, and for the Red Cross. I'd forgotten how much fun they are to read aloud.
This one caught my eye because of the colors of the cover. I bought it on impulse. I wanted to see what the entire interior looked like on an iPad. Gorgeous!
There are two kinds of children's books: Those that are story driven with a moral at the end, and those that are driven by the visuals. To me, visually driven stories have more range because you can adapt them to the age of the child(ren) you're reading to. Teach colors. Shapes. New worlds. New words. Animals. In this case, fish.
I'm looking forward to pulling my iPad out and sharing this story with my friend's son the next time I see him. He's going to love it!
Love the idea of a dragon exploring under the sea!
I love the idea of a dragon snorkeling underwater to explore under the sea. Great illustrations that younger children will enjoy and excite their imagination. It is a quick night time read for Grand parents to read to their grand children.
