Great read.

This is wonderfully written. It is so descriptive, you feel like you were there. A well researched account of this important part of the Bible. We both loved it.

Skillfully and modestly described

I read The Last Supper: John with a tear in my eye. After such a beautiful dedication not only to our Father in Heaven for His sonâs sacrifice but also for the knowledge that we are His children and co-heirs in the Kingdom. What a celebration it will be on that day when we sit next to our brothers and sisters and those we loved in life.

Iâve always enjoyed Toneyâs books. He breathes life into his characters and all of a sudden we see the disciples as they once were. Simple men living in a time and place most of us cannot imagine. To communicate a sense of that era accurately takes real talent. Sometimes I sit and wonder what they all looked like, what they ate. After reading this, I can see John as enthusiastic and emotional. I see Peter as a passionate man, tumbling over his bravado without really knowing how hard it would be. And Judas? Did he have an inkling of the tragedy he would bring on himself?

Toney conveys a frightening time for the disciples. Whatever they saw, whatever they felt, they knew Jesus was not of this earth - to be in His presence is not like being in the presence of any other man. We understand the pain of parting, of losing a friend. But what we canât understand is how âtheyâ must have felt.
