Lol. Ok this is a fun read and short?

Usually I would be talking about the authors world building etc at this stage. This story-- I cannot. It is short and sweet and fluff! Fun fast reading even if it is predictable.

The narrator's voice, grated at times but that is due, I think, due to her reading with a Texas twang. Usually I love a Texas twang but I found that less is more. All in all a fun read.

A well written and read story of a 6th grade boy

J R was a sixth grade teacher. His children's stories are typical of how a young boy thinks. This is a picture of the real life a boy longs for. School, sports and girls makes it a fun read. Also check out Kurt and Captain Annie.

good for everyone

This was a delightful audio book, very easy to pick up and listen. It wasn't long at all and I finished in one listen. I would recommend to kids of all ages, boys and girls alike. Narrator did an excellent job and it was fun to follow along with Jimmy in his adventures.

Would you consider the audio edition of Jimmy and the Monroe Mustangs to be better than the print version?

I feel all audio versions of books are better than print versions. Audio brings out the correct pronunciations and complete emotions in the story that many of us are not gifted to do. I also like to kick back & listen to a great story the same way I would a good friend.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the quality life & happiness Jimmy has in his home life. Jimmy is a smart, well-rounded, well brought up boy in the 6th grade - very level headed most of the time.

What about Brian Rollinss performance did you like?

I liked the soothing sound of the narrator's voice. He spoke clearly for me to understand and did great using many voices thus making the story believable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The best part I liked was when Jimmy was smart enough to set Jake up to get caught stealing. I also really liked how Jimmy stood up for his friends, specially the girls!

Any additional comments?

This was a really good read! Perfect for young boys and girls alike. It was a good length for kids at that age too. I would guess this would be a great book for kids from ages 8 to maybe young adult. I know some adults that would enjoy this book too. Listening to this story took me back to my school days a lot.

Great story line and awesome characters!!

Would you listen to Legally Undercover again? Why?

No. I don't think so. I might read the physical book, but I really didn't care for the narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Legally Undercover?

When Pedro was introduced, because HELLO - he's Pedro.

Would you be willing to try another one of Crystal Sershens performances?

I don't think so. I think she pulled off the character's voices and accents well. I didn't like it while she was reading the non-dialogue parts, the infliction of of voice at the end of the sentences was unlikeable.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Anticipation ran high while reviewing this title. The smexy parts were smexy and the story was full of suspense.

Welcome to my 1st foray into audiobooks! What a change, but what a rush!

I was completely enthralled with this story. The intrigue of DC really shines through. I had to laugh at how everyone else is up to something and off far off the mark they might be. Her descriptions make the story that shes created very easy to picture. The narrator in this story also made me laugh. She nailed all of the emotions floating through this intriguing tale.

Kall puts forth some very well developed characters. This author really takes you inside the lives of the main characters. She also puts a haze over their lives. You get to know them as they get to know each other. I fully admit that the author had me fooled right up until the last minute. I thought the good guy was the bad guy and couldnt figure out how the main character didnt see it.

This is one of those stories that really makes you wonder what you would do for family. It was a fast paced ride that I wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

I've read this one a dozen times!

This is one of my favorite Leigh Michaels books. It is densely written, every moment fast and funny and new even after multiple readings. The heroine is a morning-show co-host, the hero is in charge of "Traveling Man," a short light-hearted segment on the same TV show - and circumstances require their teaming up temporarily. Rising in her profession, the heroine is frustrated by the hero's casual attitude toward the show - and her of course! So many charming scenes are packed into this book it's hard to believe it's a short Harlequin Romance - Michaels certainly doesn't believe in unnecessary description or long internal rambling. With the subtle but substantial romantic conflicts, the usual surprise (or two) at the end, a very likeable hero and heroine, this is a great book for newbies to Michaels or Harlequin Romance.

Heart [Paperback] by Susan Ross

Book was given as a gift to a dear friend who asked for the book. An Amazon-third party seller had a good copy in stock, and so the book was purchased. Have not yet heard if the recipient liked the book, but do know that the recipient was pleased with the gift.

An amazing, emotional story

I almost gave up after the first chapter. The writing just didn't grab me. I hate not finishing a book so I figured that I would put it away and start chapter 2 another time. I was hoping that a new day and new frame of mind would make a difference. I am so glad I gave it another chance! I became sucked in and so invested in Ruth and Tom's relationship that I couldn't put it down.

This was a very emotional book and there isn't one emotion you won't feel! Their story begins in 1971 in Akron, Ohio. Ruth Tyack, is a graduate student at Eastern Ohio University. Tom Jeffers, a poet from Buffalo, is coming to the University to do a poetry reading. Ruth is asked to pick him up at the airport. They have an immediate, strong connection. Their banter is full of teasing and sexual innuendo's, it's flirting at its best!

They know they can never have more than just one night together. He is married and a father and she was offered a teaching position in Rome and will be leaving soon. Their attraction is so strong that they know the unexpected love they feel for each other will never go away. They are true soul mates. Their lives go on in two different directions. They form relationships and try to lead a normal life, as they will never truly be free to be together. They are forced to face many challenges and heartbreaks, but they seem to have this magnetic pull toward each other that time, distance and hardships cannot break. Their hearts will always belong to each other and their love will sustain them until, if and when, they can be together again. "We need each other to fill the empty spaces which we have discovered cannot be filled by another".

The original story had ended in 1982. This version takes place in 2012, thirty years later. It was an amazing story! When you get so wrapped up in the characters of a book you always wonder what was next.

Timing IS everything!

In today's busy society, this novel is the perfect length for a one-sitting read. It entertains, informs and takes the reader away from the stresses of everyday life long enough to relax him/her.

Usually I skip the long passages of description in novels and read the dialogue - if written well, I don't miss much of that storyline. In TWYLA'S LAST RIDE, the dialogue truly IS the key - I sympathized with Lucy; I understood TY; and I got caught up in the characters' lives.

The novel leaves you wanting to call your mother to find out if there's anything you don't know about her life that you'd like to know before she passes out of yours. Oh, it also proves that Mom knows you better than you think! Wink, wink.

Twyla's Last Trip: A Short on Time Book

Today I finished reading another one of Karen Mueller Bryson's "Short on Time" fiction novellas. I would classify this one as a romantic comedy. It is called, "Twyla's Last Trip".

In the beginning "Lucy" (I call Lucinda that because she hates it! LOL) is a snotty, "mightier than thou" person who cared about nothing or no one more than defending her dissertation, obtaining her doctorate, and getting a job as a professor at a swanky high fallutin' college. She couldn't even be bothered when her mother called her to tell her she was dying! UGH! When her mother, Twyla, died and TJ, her country lawyer called "Lucy" to tell her, she hung up on him. TJ wasn't giving up that easy though, so he drove to her research lab. "Lucy" thought her mother was just a poor "trailer trash" cat lady, but was surprised to find out that she was actually a multi-millionaire. "Lucy" stood to inherit all that money, but Twyla had added stipulations to her will ... She had to take a road trip with TJ (and his hound dog) across the country, stopping several places for photo ops, and ending in California where she was to bury Twyla's remains. I thought it was funny that her urn was shaped like a cowboy boot.

I highly recommend, "Twyla's Last Trip" if you're in need of a quick "pick me up" - can't put it down - read.

What a fun, fast ride!

Karen Mueller Bryson introduces memorable, intriguing characters and sets them off on a non-stop adventure down Route 66, along with roadside attractions and a budding romance between the cold-as-steel Lucinda and the ever endearing T.J. I absolutely loved how Lucinda's deceased mother's innate wisdom reached out from beyond the grave to guide the people she most cared about to find their genuine selves...and to see the potential in each other.

This was a perfect week for a Short on Time Book.
